MTM - The Deliverers

In my town these are the people who really deliver:

Billy is what has become a vanishing type of Letter Carrier. She delivers along Main Street. She has only four stops where she just drives her truck up to a roadside rural mailbox. The rest of her route is done on foot. In the historic areas of town she actually walks up to the mailboxes that are near your front door. For businesses, she walks into the store to deliver and also picks up any out going mail. She always has a smile and a hello!

Burrell delivers along Main Street. He also delivers to my home where he is greeted by our nine pond dog. She jumps about half-way up the door as he approaches. He lovingly calls her "Killer". If I have a package that needs a signature, he knows where to find me on Main St.

I love small towns!
When my hubby does Meals on Wheels he is guided to his location: "The house with the canoe for sale on the front lawn."

Our pop. is legally 650, except everyone goes south (Toronto or Florida) for January => April!

I know some of your "haunts" on Main Street, but didn't know you spent that much time there that the UPS guy tracks you! I know Billie - her daughter used to be in my girl scout troop, but is all grown up now.

Oh, we just love Burrell here ('cept his "laziness" about not carrying packages upstairs... he typically leaves everything on the 1st floor, even if he has to walk upstairs to get a signature). But he's always so cheerful, laughing, whistling, and everybody is "babe".

This is a really nice post. We used to know our mail carriers by name, but realize now we do not. Thanks for the glimpse into your small town.

It's nice when the mail carriers know how to get mail to people when only their first name is on the letter. IT's like that in a small town. Thanks for your lovely post.

Burrell used to deliver in Middletown, at my place of employment. Great guy!
