MTM - a Small Town Insurance Agency

Over the last several weeks I have dealt with a small insurance agency in my town. They remind me of the first insurance agent I dealt with, about fifty years ago. This was of course the one my parents had dealt with. When I got my first automobile policy his advise was that I should never make a left turn. It was better to go around the block and make three right turns!

Back to the agent in my town: I don't think they own even a typewriter let alone a computer. The few documents they have sent me were hand written. They also do not have a postage machine. They use stamps. It is just nice to have this touch of nostalgia.

Well, we do have a typewriter & 2 computers here at the funeral home, but no postage machine... we still use the old fashioned stamps here. And I frequently hand-address envelopes, just 'cause I'm too lazy to type them out.

I am wondering who in the world you use??? Tell me tomorrow.

Hello Constable Chuck,

Sometimes old-fashioned practices in action are good, sometimes not.

As long as they have what it takes to advocate on your behalf with the policy issuers, then that should be all that matters.

I am sure, however, that young drivers in your town want to know... do you, as the representative of the law, advocate three right turns in your town? Especially with the congestion brought on by those frequent trains?

Cheers,
Chris

Welcome Chuck, to My Town Monday. With respect to the typewriter, perhaps the insurance agency felt they had no need for a computer when the typewriter still works perfectly well. Stamps shouldn't be considered a novetly. I still use stamps and I live in a city with a population of 7 million.

Small towns are quaint with some very nice qualities.

Welcome Chuck. I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to chime in but it's been a busy day. Hope you post on many more Mondays to come.
